Visits and meetings with companies and young entrepreneurs in Mendoza

On the weekend of November 22 and 23, the Slovenian Ambassador to Argentina, Ms. Tina Vodnik, diplomat Tija Kuhar, and Honorary Consul Jože Šmon visited one of our first partner companies, Bajda SRL. During their visit, they toured the main plant and learned about the history of a family-owned business founded in 1951 as the vision and dream of a family of Slovenian immigrants, led by Peter (Pedro) Bajda.
Bajda began as a barrel-making factory and has since diversified into a parquet manufacturer, transforming wood through tradition, technology, and a unique natural aging process that guarantees floors of the highest quality. They combine experience, innovation, and sustainable production to create barrels, flooring, decks, and staircases, which today reach the world’s most demanding markets, such as Spain, Italy, the United States, and of course, Slovenia, among many others.
We extend special thanks to Helena Bajda and Juan Ignacio Artac, the third and fourth generations of the family, respectively, for the warm welcome and the tour.
During their tour of Mendoza, the diplomatic team also visited the young company Novak Metalmecánica, where they design, manufacture, and deliver industrial modules and warehouses, in addition to providing comprehensive operational support, assembly, metal construction, and industrial electromechanical maintenance. Thanks to Nicolas Nemanič for welcoming them and showing them Novak’s operations.
