We participated in the scientific symposium “Artificial Intelligence for a Shared Future” between Slovenia and Argentina

On May 4, we had the honor of participating in the event “Artificial Intelligence for a Shared Future: Scientific Symposium between Slovenia and Argentina,” a day of academic and scientific exchange that brought together specialists, researchers, officials, and representatives from institutions in both countries to reflect on the impact and opportunities offered by artificial intelligence in various areas of society.

The event was opened by Antonio Marin, vice rector of the Universidad del CEMA (UCEMA) and director of its Business School, alongside Tina Vodnik, ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Argentina, who highlighted the importance of promoting opportunities for international cooperation aimed at advancing knowledge, innovation, and the exchange of experiences.

The event featured an introductory video by Dr. Jure Leskovec, a renowned researcher and professor at Stanford University, which was followed by a series of presentations focused on the current and future applications of artificial intelligence in various fields of study and work.

Among the notable presentations was one by Sergio Pernice, representing UCEMA, who addressed different perspectives on the development of this technology. Also participating was Robert Jeraj, from the University of Wisconsin, who spoke about the use of artificial intelligence in medical physics and radiology, and Saša Čaval, from Stanford University, who presented innovative applications of these tools in the field of archaeology.

The event concluded with a panel featuring young Argentine scholarship recipients from the American Slovenian Education Foundation (ASEF), who shared their academic and professional experiences, as well as their reflections on the potential of artificial intelligence to optimize processes, generate new opportunities, and transform various aspects of daily life.

The event was also attended by prominent figures from the public and academic spheres, including Hernán Lombardi, Minister of Economic Development for the City of Buenos Aires, and Diana Mondino, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Argentine Republic and professor at the University of CEMA.

Initiatives like this strengthen the ties between Argentina and Slovenia, fostering the exchange of knowledge, scientific cooperation, and dialogue on the challenges and opportunities presented by new technologies.

We thank the University of CEMA and the Government of Slovenia for promoting and supporting forums like this one, which contribute to the development of knowledge, innovation, and the ongoing education of our communities.
